This sow has mothered many cubs here in this part of Katmai. She is an amazing mother and a true guardian to her cubs. She sensed that there might be trouble so she told her cubs to stay low in the grass as she first entered the meadow. Her nose told her of a sub adult male in the far corner. He took off after she entered.
